Thoughts on Video-based Marketing (Part 2)

On my last blog (Thoughts on Video-based Marketing (Part 1)), I ‘ve discussed the background of video-based marketing and have mentioned some facts regarding video-based marketing. now, I will share with you a few reasons why using video-based marketing can be beneficial for marketers.

  1. Video content promotes brand recall. According to HubSpot, 80% of customers remember a video they’ve watched in the last monthvideo-marketing. One of the biggest strengths of video marketing is that it relies highly on visual and auditory senses, which leads to users to remember the content more than text-based content that means they remember your brand and eventually leads to more sales.
  2. Video content performs well on all devices. Design is one of the biggest trends driving the digital marketing world today. If a company’s content doesn’t work well on a given device or browser system, the company will lose traffic and suffers decreased conversions as a result. Fortunately, video content is fit for consumption on all devices, ranging from computers to mobile phones. This expands video’s reach and makes it more user-friendly and consumer focused.
  3. Video marketing can boost your site’s SEO. 65% of business decision- makers visit a marketer’s webvideo_content_marketing_640x320site after viewing a branded video. This clearly shows that quality and relevant video marketing content can drastically improve your site’s SEO by driving people to your homepage. Video can also enhance your conversion rates, as reported by HubSpoty that 39% of business decision-makers contact a vendor after viewing a branded video.

That’s just a few of the many reasons why video marketing will be beneficial for marketers. Click here to view an example of a successful video marketing done by Google to promote Android. They created a content that taps into viewers emotions and resulted as the most shared video ad of 2015.

  1. I do agree with the fact that people can remember things easily through watching rather than reading. Therefore, I do agree that video marketing could be a good move if done properly by companies. Video could also be more attractive, and therefore creates more consumer interest, which I believe is the aim of all marketers. However, many companies are still not into doing this, I’m guessing this is because cost of doing so are still high compared to other means of marketing. What do you think?

    • Yes, i think that the cost is still too high also. Because in developing a suitable video marketing for the market, the company has to do a lot of research that requires a lot of resources both financial and manpower. Creating an attractive video marketing also requires the company to spend on filming and editing of the video. However, I think that video marketing is still better than conventional marketing as it attracts more customers to eventually buys the product. Maybe the cost is outweighed by the return on making the video ads. That’s just my thought though.
